Web cookie rules
Most of the websites we visit today use cookies in a certain way to improve the user experience. Although cookies are generally harmless, some site visitors do not want to use them. The new legislation (ZEKom-1) and the European Directive are changing the way of notifying or consenting the visitors with their use. This way, they can block certain or all cookies or delete cookies that have already been sent. Please note that by using this site, you consent to the use of cookies as described below.
What are Web Cookies?
Web cookies are small files that websites place on a computer or other communication device (tablets, smartphones…) in order to store information about users and their settings. Cookies can enrich the browsing experience by allowing websites to remember user preferences or by preventing users from having to log in each time they visit specific sites. Saved cookies can be deleted by users at any time, the users can also change thier privacy settings to prevent websites from storing them. Cookies can also be used for user tracking and advertising purposes, which the legislator wants to prevent by amending ZEKom-1.
Setting and storing cookies
Cookies may be determined by the website you are visiting as a user (“your own cookies”), or by a third party website that maintains content on the website you are viewing (“cookies from elsewhere”). Cookies can be stored for different times, only for the duration of the browsing session or for much longer. A temporary or session cookie is a cookie that allows us to link your actions during a browsing session. A browsing session starts when you open a browser window and ends when you close it. Session cookies are temporarily created and deleted when your browser window closes. A permanent or persistent cookie is a cookie that remains on your device. It is activated every time you visit the website that created that particular cookie.
