I’ll tell you the story. A little funny, a little instructive 🙂
As I am becoming more and more ecologically aware and love homemade food, I started buying milk from a local farmer. t’s cheaper than store-bought milk – only 60 cents – and the taste is incomparable. And the divine cream on boiled milk – pure enjoyment! I’d rather not think about cholesterol…
For starters, I dug up an old 3 liter milk can. But I’ve found that’s too much milk and I don’t consume it fast enough. It was also annoying to load it up and stock it with towels so it wouldn’t squirt around the car. I said to myself, “Hmm, this milk can isn’t waterproof and it’s made of aluminum! From now on, I’m going to collect my milk in bottles,” and I’ve been loading milk in bottles ever since.
And it was OK for a while. Then one day I take 2 liters of milk, pay for them and carry them to the car. There, I put the bottles in a basket just in case and stocked them with towels. On the way home, however, I had to brake hard. The sound reminded me of a toast – “chin-chin!” I would say ‘Cheers’, but I almost had a stroke. One of the bottles spilled all over the bottom of the passenger seat! Well, it is what it is… At home, I remove the cracked bottle and soak up spilled milk with a towel. Then I pour water over the place where the milk spilled and clean it with a water vacuum cleaner. I repeat the procedure three times. Well done, we are saved.
As if! As long as the weather was cold, the smell was bearable, but then the sun started shining. Ok, first there was the smell of milk, then of cottage cheese, then of spoiled milk and so I repeated the cleaning once, twice,… six times! Yet the smell was more and more disgusting. I drove around with the window open, even when it poured. Then the stench became unbearable. Getting in the car, I felt like throwing up. I called for a deep cleaning and the gentleman kindly explained: “You know I can deep clean your car, but it won’t help. It is necessary to remove the carpet on the floor and then thoroughly clean it.” I called the bidders who would know this and thank God I found someone who could handle this matter. I immediately drove my car there and in 5 days it was done.
Yes, thank God, the stench is gone.
Yes, the car now has a smell of powerful cleaning products.
Yes, I paid for the cleaning… Those 100 Euros still hurt, but I am deeply grateful that the matter was solvable.
Now I can finally drive around without the disgusting stench. Sometimes things that cost a little and are healthy and good can make life very bitter.
From now on I have a plastic milk can, but here and there a drop still comes through. I will transport it in a bucket with a towel just in case. Live and learn.
Have a good time,
